Zoobaby, Baby Zoo
When Friendly Plumbing returns for another
look at the water flow and the joyous
wilderness is on tap for tonight,
when the Enlightenment is marshaled,
when the budgeting is finally done.
When there’s babies in the window.
la mère n’oublie jamais
when it’s my wheel, it’s the war
god on the cusp / when it’s nextdoor to
the key, but what kind? a diary.
she warned, it’s the summer of mistakes
and the clock says ocean, so I need a nap
backed by a field of rainbow:
i was made for love
im baby the botanist
im baby the botanist, baby the rumor,
the garden nursery, baby the ruler;
when the wheelbarrows are positively poetry-in-motion. purple.
majesty. Yes to all and sister to chaos.
winds turn your head … Ready? they say … Honey … Fear,
The mysterious carriage appears.
… am I a cold-hearted snake or do you just have a crush on me?

Observe:
GO bestfriend!!!
You, my best friend.
When it’s times-up, yeah now
It’s my time (Time is YES).
Tits up!
When it’s flights-up
to the golden, to the mountaintops.
I am a tree
growing as I do.
i know that’s right x that’s hot
when you’re on call and the demo’s done;
coffee and poetry on the deck in the morning;
when the sun lights your courage and you say hello;
when time is a river, a river moving through you–
ajoy–when the door is ajar…
Loomingssoak
When you reeled in the support you have
craved for longer than was necessary,
when you will rest.
When you will tender your
skin, your bones, your body whole with warm
water, scrubs and salt and lotions, with musics
a pair of blue-covered books (a song and a whale of a tale)
the virginal moon, snow-full
and yes, it is snowing again.
and yes, i was warned about today’s wrinkles
and yet, the calendar insists–come to meet
and I must spur on.
If you surrendered to the air, you could ride it.
Toni Morrison, Song of Solomon
Correction:
When they must be doing something wrong
(a whole lotta cheating going on);
when your butt’s sore (but improving)
and the clog is deep in the line (but courage
and determination must persist);
when the Chief Justice is you, presiding
over consecutive flurries
When this time of year: makes me think of rainbows
because my twin is one; a horned mermaid
underneath and a horned rising to your face.
She’s the start of the wheel.
